Hope
Many of us youth are going through many difficulties and challenges. Some we may feel to be over-bearing. This may create doubt and despair in our lives. We may ask, why is this happening to me? Why now?
Many people struggle to conceive. When you were conceived you were one in millions of sperm cells, you struggled upstream and you succeeded and you got chosen and all the other millions of sperm cells died out. God specially chose you to be on this earth. Everything in the world and universe, God made for a reason. The bees make honey, the cows’ produces milk and we eat them, the chicken produces eggs and we may eat them as well. Is it not that God made you for a special reason and purpose too? To realise this you need to reflect within yourself? What could the reason of your creation be?
It is said that your experiences and challenges in life shapes you into the person you are meant to become. It gives you character. God also says that he will not place a burden on you heavier than that which you can bear.
“Everything that happens to you is your teacher. The secret is to learn to sit at the feet of your life and be taught.” (Polly Berends)
Sometimes we may question, why is God letting this happen to me? It might be because he knows you are strong enough to deal with it and it is shaping you for a higher purpose…
“The difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge, while an ordinary man takes everything as either a blessing or a curse. There is great truth in this. We need to move beyond judging everything as either a blessing or a curse, and accept the changes in our lives, no matter what they are, as friends, teachers and opportunities.” (John Kehoe, The Practise of Happiness)
And lastly,
“The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
Some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house
Empty off its furniture,
Still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
For some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
Meet them at the door laughing
And invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
Because each had been sent
As a guide from the beyond.”
